Jugada a 3 bandas is a Madrid-based initiative that seeks to promote the continuous work of galleries, curators and artists working in the field of contemporary art.

It proposes a series of activities that are binding together the simultaneous opening of the participating galleries, who have comissioned a curator to organize a show in their space.

The aim of Ja3b is to create an innovative and attractive framework around those exhibitions, in order to attract emerging and committed collectors as well as specialized and general public. Ja3B exists since 2010, and opens in the month of April. Within its two years of existence Ja3B has developed into one of the key projects for the promotion of Spanish contemporary arts.

Ja3b, conceived and directed so far by Virginia Torrente, who maintains her collaboration as a member of the advisory board – is now continued by Hablar en Arte.

For the forthcoming edition in 2013 we plan to increase the number of participating galleries and exhibition proposals, to program activities that strengthen and promote the project goals (such as public guided tours, a special collectors program, public talks among the participating curators and special events in associated spaces). Similarly, and in order to extend the initiative to other cities in the future, there will be a parallel edition of Ja3b in Barcelona in order to establish collaborative networks nationwide.

In order to perpetuate and endure the quality of the proposal, we also seek to internationalize the third edition of Ja3b to strengthen and promote the Spanish contemporary art scene among Europe and worldwide.
